The non-religious funeral service to celebrate the life of Wendy Akers will take place on Friday 25 August 2017 at 2:20pm at Wakefield Crematorium, Standbridge Lane, Wakefield, WF4 3JA. All present are warmly invited by Wendy’s family to join them afterwards at Wrenthorpe Village Hall, 1 Wrenthorpe Lane, Wrenthorpe, Wakefield WF2 0NE.
No flowers please, but donations, in lieu of flowers will be given to Wakefield Hospice, Aberford Road, Wakefield WF1 4TS.
Please do not hesitate to wear colourful, particularly floral, items of clothing.

Can I also take this opportunity to thank everyone for the many cards and other communications that I and the family have received since Wendy’s death.

On behalf of the Northern Group can i confirm what a lovely service it was in memory of Wendy. All who attended were moved by the detailed content of the service which was a celebration of the life of our President .
Wendy will never be forgotten. She had a kind way of giving her views and that is a major reason why we got on so well. As Chairman i felt so proud that so many members attended. This was a measure of the friendship of the Northern Group.
