The Late Vic Coe

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Vic Coe, a Vice President of The Daffodil Society.
Vic has, until relatively recently, been the Chairman of the DS Mid-Southern group, he is an experienced and long standing Society judge and for many years was a welcoming and helpful steward at the RHS daffodil shows.
Vic attended the Society’s first Presentation evening just over a fortnight ago and was in good health and good spirits which makes his sudden death such a shock. We send our sincere condolences to his family.

Further details will be posted.

Thank you for posting a lovely article about my Grandad. He will be greatly missed by us and I’m sure all of you. He loved his daffodils!

Vic was a great ambassador for Daffodils. We were so pleased that he managed to attend the presentation evening that we organised. On the night he thanked us and said what a wonderful time he had. The very next day he sent us a lovely e mail to again thank us. He said he had a really special time and how great it was to catch up with some old friends from the RHS. He was thrilled to be present to see Alex Burke receive the well earned Daffodil Society Vice Presidency
On the occasions I managed to show at the Mid Southern Daffodil Group,Show Vic and his team were always enthusiastic and very welcoming.
What a gentleman, it was a pleasure knowing him. He will be sorely missed and The Daffodil world will be poorer for his departure.
Our condolences to Vic’s family and friends.

I was very shocked to hear of the passing of Vic. I have known Vic as a friend for very many years. He started judging the Daffodils at the Bovingdon show in 1995. Always the 2nd Saturday of April. Rickmansworth being the 1st Saturday. He also used to judge the Hanging Baskets for the village for many years. I was speaking to him just a few weeks ago about a query we had as we were preparing our 1919 year book.
I was hoping to attend his funeral, but I have a Christmas lunch that day. My thoughts go out to Vic’s family at this very sad time.

We were all so very shocked and saddened by the news that Vic had died. He had been a wonderful judge at our Spring shows for a number of years and was highly thought of and much appreciated.
Our thoughts go to his family at this sad time.
