New venue for Society show 2014

The 2014 Daffodil Society show will be held at Coughton Court, Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 5JA on Saturday 19 April and Sunday 20 April 2014. The move is an exciting new partnership between the Society, the Throckmorton family and the National Trust.

This new location will provide improved show facilities for our exhibiters, excellent catering and a chance to showcase the Daffodil and the merits of membership to a much wider audience.

Coughton Court is well known for its gardens and a relative of the Throckmorton family, Dr Tom Throckmorton, devised the colour coding system we use to register and describe daffodils. It is an exciting new venture for us.

Have been reading about the new venue for next year’s show. It all looks very exciting. It must have taken a lot of hard work to put everything in place , so congratulations to all concerned.

Exciting times for the Society. The move to Coughton Court appears to
have many more positives than negatives. A lot of hard work has gone
into the negotiations no doubt. Well done.

Beautiful setting and location. Everyone beware, the roads and countryside from Warwick to Coughton Court are very good except there are many speed cameras and at Coughton itself the limit is 30 mph
