Peter Barr Cup

This years winner of the prestigious Peter Barr cup was confirmed at the RHS Bulb committee meeting held on 19 February 2013 to be  Dr Peter Ramsay of New Zealand.

Peter was introduced to daffodils by his father Jim and this lifelong love of daffodils has seen his commitment to every facet of daffodil growing and showing.
As a breeder of superb and highly desirable daffodils, Peter has experienced great success on the show benches. Over 100 varieties appear in the RHS register of Daffodil cultivars.
His flowers are widely grown and shown in the UK and Peter says that he gets as much pleasure seeing his varieties appearing on show benches and achieving success for exhibitors from around the world.
Peter and Lesley Ramsay are Vice-Presidents of the Daffodil Society. They will be visiting the UK in April to receive the trophy from the RHS. The Daffodil Society offers hearty congratulations to Peter (and Lesley) and is delighted to welcome them to the Daffodil Society show at Myton School, Warwick on Saturday 20 April and Sunday 21 April 2013.

  1. Congratulations Peter, on the award of the Peter Barr Memorial Cup for your services to the Daffodil. Richly deserved and so pleased to hear that you will both be coming over to UK this year. We look forward to seeing you at Warwick and Harrogate no doubt, as we should be back from our travels abroad, in time to see you at the shows. Kia Ora! Jan & Lynne
