Important show requirements 2023

The countdown to our annual Daffodil Show has begun. Just less than three weeks to go. Will your blooms be out on time and looking their best or are you desperately trying to hold back some of your favourites?
Whatever the state of play do try and bring some flowers. There is no show without sufficient entries for a splendid display, some great competition and friendly rivalry.

HOWEVER – some important things to remember.
Bring your entry tickets to the Botanic Gardens – these were issued in the envelope with the 2023 Journal. No tickets no free admission.

Be aware that there are now new parking arrangements for all Garden visitors including us. Everyone MUST pay the £3 a day parking charge.
A private company is now responsible for the parking system and the charges and they are reported to be as keen as mustard.
Pay promptly and look at your ticket carefully to ensure it records your car and its arrival correctly

Oasis is not welcome. In line with the RHS and other major horticultural displays the use of Oasis to stage blooms is not welcome at the Botanic Gardens. Give your lawn a good rake and check your moss carefully for tiny slugs and snails to stage more ethically.

Donations for the DS fund raising tombola will be gratefully received. Can you spare an hour to help staff it?

It could be a bumper year for top class blooms. See you on the 14th for staging and the 15/16 April 2023. Good Luck!
