Daffodil shortage for UK Mothering Sunday?

The Metro and Daily Mail newspaper reported a 50% increase in daffodil prices as farmers in Lincolnshire struggle to get daffodils to bloom in time for Mothering Sunday. The wholesale price increase has raised the cost from 20 pence to 30 pence per bunch in New Covent Garden market London.

The Daily Mail shows a field in Lincolnshire in March 2012 full of flowers and the same field in March 2013 with only green shoots. Click here for the full story
