The late Peter Ottaway

It is with sadness we record the passing, at the age of 79, of Peter Ottoway of Eight Ash Green, Essex from cancer. Peter was a superb exhibitor, over very many years at national level, of dahlias, fuschias  and potatoes and had these last half dozen years or so become one of the leading daffodil exhibitors. This is borne out by his winning the Best Bloom in Show at Harrogate last year with a superb flower of ‘Aircastle’ (3W-Y) . He may not be familiar to many members  by name but his distinctive trademark  of a long ponytail will perhaps be a reminder of this rather reclusive gentleman.
We offer our sincere condolences to Maureen and his children Annie and Peter.

Peter was an exhibitor of note who in recent years had made quite an impact at major shows, with his award winning flowers. His genial manner and presence will be much missed in 2016.
