Wordsworth celebrations at RHS gardens

During March and April all the RHS gardens are marking the anniversary of William Wordsworth’s birth with a celebration of daffodils.

A special outdoor exhibition will be staged at all four gardens featuring interesting daffodil facts, DNA research and the role of daffodils in art, culture and religion. Visitors can also enjoy the uplifting sight of hosts of golden daffodils including some new plantings.

At RHS Garden Rosemoor Devon some 12,000 bulbs of more than 30 daffodil species and cultivars  were planted last year to extend existing displays. There will also be a new display of cultivars bred at Rosewarne Research Station from the 1950’s to 1980’s.

From 14 -15 March the Spring Flower Festival and Wordsworth Daffodil Weekend includes the Rosemoor Daffodil Competition.
