It is with sadness that we hear of the death of David Matthews after some years of declining health. He was 85 years of age.
David, with his wife Gill, were hardworking members of the Daffodil Society committee and were instrumental in finding Myton School as our show venue in the early 2000’s. Gill served as an excellent Show Secretary.
Some may also remember David in his role on the RHS Daffodil Committee in particular his role on the Trials committee with an eye for a good flower..
David was a great showman, winning many awards at top level classes at the Daffodil Society and the RHS shows. He was also a leading figure in the South East England Daffodil Society, serving as Chairman for many years.

His funeral will be held at 11.20am on Wednesday 27 September 2023 at Barham Crematorium in Canterbury. Len Olive may be contacted for any further information.
